Yes. Every online school inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education can offer accredited courses that count toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.

Laurel Virtual Academy was established in 2026 by two Ontario teachers with vast teaching and administrative experience. Laurel is expecting its first ministry inspection in the 2026-2027 school year. Our courses will technically only count toward the OSSD once Laurel has passed its first inspection. Our teachers have collectively passed over a dozen inspections for other schools. While we cannot legally guarantee that courses taken with Laurel will be accredited, we are confident that we will pass our first inspection in the 2026-2027 school year. Yes. We welcome international students from every country in the world. You can study at our school from the comfort of your home. You can even complete your exams online. You can achieve an Ontario Secondary School Diploma online without stepping foot in Canada.

Yes. All accredited courses go onto the Ontario Student Transcript (OST). The OST does not indicate whether a course was taken in-person or online. Both are treated exactly the same way by universities and colleges.
